MEMBER | MARSILING CHINESE ORCHESTRA
To further pursue my love for music, I joined Marsiling Chinese Orchestra in 2017. As a member of a reputable external Chinese orchestra, members are expected to uphold standards and reputation so as to be eligible to participate in notable public events. Just after one month of entering the orchestra, I participated in the Esplanade Beautiful Sunday: 2017 Love Accents concert. Subsequently, at the Esplanade Beautiful Sunday 2020: Spring Melodies, Ling IV and the Istana Presidential Garden Party. At MCO, I developed soft skills such as communication, responsibility and teamwork.

VOLUNTEER | GEYLANG SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTRE
As part of Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Service Learning Elective module, my group mates and I participated in a 12 hour long volunteering session with the seniors at GEHA. During my service there, we were tasked to organise weekly programmes as well as daily news reports for the seniors. Through this experience, my team and I picked up programme planning skills, engagement skills as well as meaningful insights to our intergenerational traditions and culture.
GO MAD SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT 2016
Through this experience, I had the responsibility of a Performance In-Charge to conceptualise and execute performance-based activities that would actively engage the elderly at Sun Love Marsiling Senior Activities Center. Performances that we planned out had to be relatable and optimistic to actively engage the elderly. Although my team and I struggled with a lack of experience, we still brought our many smiles throughout the performances
GO MAD SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT 2018
We were tasked to become activity facilitators for the children at MINDS. Through this experience, we empowered children with intellectual and developmental disabilities by building literacy and social skills to successfully interact with their peers.
One challenge we had was to coordinate and delegate tasks as a team. We overcame it by holding a small intermission discussion to get back on track. Despite our communication differences, our execution brought positive and pleasant feedback from the management team at MINDS. This experience brought me skills such as communication and patience.
CHINESE ORCHESTRA VIA TO SWAMI HOME 2017
I was selected to be part of a Values-In-Action project to Swami Home as part of an initiative by my CCA, Woodgrove Chinese Orchestra. During my experience, I was tasked to help some members of the elderly who were not so responsive to participate in activities such as origami folding. Through my experience, I successfully communicated with the elderly to enlighten their day and execute activities that effectively engage them.
